Emory Chinese Academy (ECA) administration and the Tsinghua Alumni Association of Georgia (TAAG) will be holding an education forum at 9:00 am on the second floor at Perimeter Church this coming Saturday, April 24, 2004. We have invited James Zhou, Xian Wu, Jianzhong Huang and Xiang Li to talk about college preparation from the parents and students' perspectives.
James Zhou ( Alumnus of Tsinghua University; former ACP President)
The parents of Julie Zhou, Alice Huang and James Zhou, will be sharing their experience and stories with you on how to guide and engage a child, how to identify and develop their "uniqueness", and how to help and support them for the college preparation process.

Jianzhong Huang (Alumnus of Tsinghua, BOD member of TAAG and CBAA, former BOD member of ACP)
The parents of Jie Lily Huang will share their experience on how to encourage their daughter to participate on both academic and extracurricular activities, and how to prepare college application for public school students.

Xian Wu (former ECA principal)
Ms Wu's son has received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Harvard University. As a teacher within the Fulton public school system, Ms. Wu has a very rich experience in high school education and the college application process.
Many parents believe their children must be academically perfect to get into top universities; this is a misconception. All universities look at the comprehensive qualities of a student in the admissions process. Therefore, it is important to raise a child who is well rounded in order to be accepted by top universities. Ms. Wu will be speaking on this subject.
Xiang Li (one of ECA's initial students in 1992)
Xiang Li was recently accepted by a special program of Huntsman at U Penn Wharton. She will talk about how to balance the success in academic & the achievements in Extracurricular/Leadership/ Activities. She'll emphasize on how she benefits from Chinese learning & how Chinese played an important role in her college application.
