    This is a good idea. Cell phone carriers are required to meet requirements of the FCC's E-911 mandate. Most of Sprint phones have location feature.

    Not only can Sprint locate the current location, but it may have record for the history of locations. This is particularly useful if the phone is currently inactive or destroyed. FBI is able to use this feature to find out where a criminal have ever been, and they have solved a number of cases with this feature. Mobile phone company normally doesn't release this kind of information for privacy reason, but I think it is absolutely a possibility. If Sprint can identify the last position, this will be a great help. Good luck, and I will continue watch the progress of this situation.

    We just visited yosemite 1 month ago. There is barely any cell signal in the mountains......
